Hornets Club Basketball Mission

The Colorado Hornets Athletics Organization is dedicated to empowering all youth by cultivating active, healthy athletes that reject passivity, accept responsibility and lead courageously in their homes, schools and communities. We believe when a child is given a vision, taught values and given a purpose, you give a child life

History of our Basketball Club

For over 20 years, the Colorado Hornets have created a family-driven environment for local youth to develop through a medium of sports.

The Colorado Hornets Youth Organization is a 501(c)3 non-profit athletic club. The organization was started to provide kids the opportunity to play competitive sports at a state and national level. Many of our players begin with us in recreation leagues and we work hard on building them into competitive tournament level players, therefore allowing everyone from beginners to accomplished players a forum that meets their needs.

More importantly we provide a positive environment for all young student/athletes. It has been proven that participating in sports and other recreational activities keeps kids away from negative influences in their lives such as drugs and gangs. This is the main reason we provide an opportunity for all children regardless of size or ability. We do NOT cut players. We have leagues for all talent levels, from the beginning player to the child that plays "like Mike." The Colorado Hornets organization strives to provide these opportunities while building confidence in our youth through their accomplishments and through achieving their goals. We will always structure our practices and teams to focus on the needs of each player and we will always include all who wish to participate.

Our coaching staffs are made up of volunteers who love the game, who have great knowledge of what they're doing, and who love working with the best student/athletes. We also depend on the support of our parents for team related assistance, fundraising, and for helping to create a positive environment.
